Turning 52 today feels like standing on a mountain peak after a long climb. I am not just marking another year; I am celebrating every challenge overcome, every lesson learned, and every victory earned. This milestone is more than a number—it is a testament to resilience, growth, and the spirit of a conqueror.

Reflecting on the Journey So Far

At 52, I look back on decades filled with moments that tested my strength and shaped my character. Life has thrown its share of obstacles, but each one became a steppingstone rather than a stumbling block. I remember times when uncertainty clouded my path, yet determination pushed me forward.

For example, in my late 20s, I faced a career crossroads that felt overwhelming. I was ready for a career change one with benefits, medical, and retirement. One day a very good friend of mine picked me up and stated," you're going to get your license today". She allowed me to use her vehicle, and she patiently waited as I took the driver's license test which included two parts knowledge and the road test. I first obtained my class D license to be able to drive myself instead of years of walking and within a few years I obtained my Class B CDL. Obtaining my CDL landed me a full-time position as a driver with an organization. I worked for the organization for 20 years and held various positions. Instead of retreating, I embraced the challenge, learned new skills, and reinvented myself professionally. That experience taught me although I obtained my driver's license later than most people it was not a barrier but rather a source of wisdom and confidence. With confidence, reliability and dedication to the organization it allowed me to obtain positions I needed a degree and I held none. Various positions offered me the opportunity to obtain 30 certifications. I didn't just grow professionally I grew spiritually I matured in various parts of my life. With growth comes wisdom, patience and builds character I learned so much and am forever grateful. Every day was not easy there were times I was homeless and had no food to eat no one knew on the job, BUT GOD he had a plan obtaining my driver's license provided the position and having the vehicle provided transportation. That was my starting point and with God's grace and mercy I became a conquer of all trials and tribulations.

Defining What It Means to Be a Conqueror

Being a conqueror is not about winning battles against others. It’s about mastering oneself and rising above personal limitations. It means:

  • Facing fears head-on

  • Embracing change without hesitation

  • Learning from failures without losing hope

  • Celebrating small wins as much as big ones

This mindset has been my compass, guiding me through uncertain times and helping me build a life I am proud of.

Embracing Change and Growth

Change is often uncomfortable, but it is essential for growth. At 52, I have learned to welcome change as an opportunity rather than a threat. Whether it’s adapting to new technology, shifting family dynamics, or evolving personal goals, I approach change with curiosity and courage.

For instance, I recently started this blog that challenged my comfort zone. It reminded me that growth happens when we push beyond familiar boundaries. This willingness to evolve keeps life exciting and meaningful.

Celebrating Victories, Big and Small

Every victory deserves recognition. Some wins are obvious, like career achievements or personal milestones. Others are quieter but just as important, such as overcoming self-doubt or maintaining healthy relationships.

I make it a point to celebrate these moments regularly. It could be as simple as journaling my progress or sharing gratitude with loved ones. These celebrations fuel my motivation and remind me of how far I’ve come.

The Power of Perspective at 52

With age comes perspective. I see now that life is not about perfection but progress. Mistakes are lessons, setbacks are setups for comebacks, and every day is a chance to write a new chapter.

This perspective helps me stay grounded and focused on what truly matters: family, health, happiness, connection, and purpose. It also encourages me to be kinder to myself and others.

Looking Ahead with Confidence

Turning 52 is not an endpoint but a new beginning. I feel energized to pursue goals that align with my values and passions. Whether it’s deepening relationships, exploring new interests, or contributing to my community, I am ready to embrace what lies ahead.

I encourage anyone reading this to reflect on their own journey. Celebrate your victories, learn from your challenges, and keep moving forward with courage. attached is a short video on a new year of life (your born day).
